This Privacy Policy explains how the SalaryDhan Android app (“App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. SalaryDhan is a local-first salary budgeting tool: your financial entries stay on your phone. The App may show a Google AdMob banner ad, which uses Google’s advertising technologies.
1. Who we are
SalaryDhan is published on Google Play as com.salarydhan.app. The App helps you plan net salary, budget categories, track paid/unpaid items, view reports, export/import backups, optionally lock the app with device biometrics, and set payday reminders.
2. Data we store on your device (not uploaded by SalaryDhan)
The following is saved locally (for example in WebView local storage / app preferences) and is not uploaded to a SalaryDhan server:
- Financial records — gross/net salary, deductions, budget categories, expense items, paid/unpaid status, month history.
- Profile details you enter — display name, job title, company, salary credit day, optional profile photo.
- Preferences — language, currency, light/dark mode, dashboard lock state, onboarding/tour status.
- App lock preference — whether biometric/device-credential lock is enabled (a boolean flag only).
- Manual backups — JSON/CSV files you export; they are written to your chosen storage (for example Downloads) only when you export.
Android backup of app data is disabled (allowBackup=false) to reduce the chance that financial data is copied to cloud device backup.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
According to Google’s AdMob data disclosure for the Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK may automatically collect and share data such as:
- IP address (may be used to estimate approximate location)
- App interactions related to ads and app usage (for example launches / taps relevant to ads)
- Diagnostics (SDK/app performance signals)
- Device / advertising identifiers — including Android Advertising ID and, where applicable, App Set ID or other account-related identifiers

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads / privacy controls, depending on your device). Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland may see additional consent choices where required by Google’s EU User Consent Policy and applicable law.
4. Permissions the App may use
- Internet / network state — required to load AdMob ads.
- Notifications — optional payday reminders (requested at runtime on Android 13+).
- Biometric / fingerprint — optional app unlock; biometric templates stay in the Android system secure hardware and are not read or stored by SalaryDhan.
- Vibrate — light haptic feedback for some actions.
- File access via system pickers / MediaStore — only when you import a backup, choose a photo, or export a file; SalaryDhan does not need broad photo-library permission for normal use.
5. Biometrics
If you enable Biometric App Lock, SalaryDhan asks Android to authenticate you (fingerprint, face, or device credential). We never receive your biometric image or template — only a success/failure result from the system.
6. Notifications
If you set a salary credit day and grant notification permission, the App schedules a local reminder (via Android WorkManager). Reminder content may include your display name stored on the device. These reminders are local scheduling; they are not marketing push messages from a SalaryDhan server.
7. Children’s privacy
SalaryDhan is intended for adults managing personal income and budgets. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information for SalaryDhan accounts (the App has no SalaryDhan user accounts).

9. Data retention
Local app data remains until you clear it, uninstall the App, or wipe the device. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files yourself. Ad-related data retained by Google is governed by Google’s policies.
10. Your choices & deletion
Delete data on this device
Open SalaryDhan → Settings → Clear All Data. This permanently deletes local financial records and preferences from the App. There is no SalaryDhan cloud account to delete on our servers.
Uninstalling the App also removes on-device App data (except files you previously exported outside the App).
- Turn off biometric lock in Settings.
- Revoke notification permission in Android settings.
- Reset Advertising ID / limit ad tracking in Android settings.
- Use export/import only when you choose to move a backup file yourself.
11. Security
We design the App to keep sensitive budget data on-device, disable Android auto-backup for App data, and offer optional biometric lock. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Protect your device with a screen lock and treat exported backups as sensitive files.
12. Third-party services
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK — advertising
- Google Play services — as required by ads and device features
- Android system biometrics & notifications — optional features you enable
Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
13. International users
The App may be available in multiple regions via Google Play. If you use the App outside India, local privacy laws may also apply. Ad serving and consent requirements may differ by region (especially EEA/UK/Switzerland).
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features or legal requirements change. The “Effective” date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
