Privacy Policy
1. Data Privacy & Local-First Storage
EsyReport is a privacy-first Android app for creating field and office PDF reports. Documents, photos, signatures, drafts, and exported reports in your history library are stored in the app’s private storage on your physical device.
We do not transmit or back up your reports to our own servers. On-device OCR (Google ML Kit / Tesseract) and translation process text locally on your device. Optional one-time downloads may fetch language model files only (not your documents) from Google ML Kit or the public Tesseract tessdata repository.
2. Biometric & Signature Data
We do not use or collect biometric data. EsyReport does not access your fingerprint or face recognition (Face ID). Digital signatures you draw in the app are image data used for PDF generation and draft continuity on your device. They are not used for identity verification and are not uploaded to us.
3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep EsyReport free, we use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain non-personal identifiers (such as Advertising ID) to provide ads and related analytics, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where required by law (for example GDPR / CCPA regions), we show a consent form (UMP) before personalized ads are requested. You can manage ad personalization in your device’s Google settings under Ads, and review privacy options from EsyReport Settings where available.
4. Permissions Usage
- Camera — Used only when you actively open the camera to capture documents or report photos.
- Location (fine / coarse) — Used only while the camera is open, with your permission, to optionally stamp GPS metadata (coordinates, address, accuracy) on photos/reports. No background location access.
- Gallery / photos — Selected through the system Photo Picker (or document scanner intents). The app does not request broad storage or media-library access.
- Internet / network state — Used for ads, consent messaging, and optional one-time OCR/translation model downloads.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID) — Declared for AdMob when targeting modern Android versions.
PDF reports and drafts remain in the app’s private storage and are shared only when you use the system share sheet (via Android FileProvider). OCR runs entirely on-device. There is no background access for camera or location.
5. GPS & Location Transparency
Location access is foreground-only and user-initiated. GPS coordinates are stamped on your report only when enabled. If live GPS is weak, you may choose to use your last known cached location. Stamped location data stays inside your local photos/PDFs and is not sent to EsyReport servers (we do not operate such servers for your reports).
6. Data Deletion Rights
You control your data. Use Clear all data or Delete Account in EsyReport Settings to permanently wipe locally stored app data (media, drafts, reports, related files). You can also clear app data from Android system Settings. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered. There is no server-side copy of your reports for us to delete.
7. Children’s Privacy
EsyReport is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app’s features or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
